Further to a request from the Microfinance Programme of the National Commission for Social Action (NaCSA), the project aims at undertaking a strategic survey on the microfinance sector in Sierra Leone and at providing technical assistance for strengthening the nascent micro-finance association.

The survey will assist the Government and the various stakeholders active in assessing the impact of the past five-year initiatives, at appraising the actual demand of micro-finance throughout the country and at issuing recommendations to further improve – if necessary – the regulatory framework, to strengthen the private-public dialogue platforms, to suggest orientations for donors’ funding, etc.
