Further to a request from the Microfinance Programme of the National Commission for Social Action (NaCSA), and in parallel to the strategic survey benefiting from BizClim's support by BizClim (WP1.27.2-1.016), the project aims at undertaking a field survey providing a detailed picture of the micro-finance landscape throughout the country.
The objective of the Microfinance Sector Demand Study is to quantify the demand for microfinance services in Sierra Leone and precise its nature. It will enable NaCSA and the stakeholders to understand the potential outreach for various financial services including loan, savings, money transfers and insurance, and identify key indicators of demand for specific services including economic activity, rural or urban milieu and gender. It will be used as an input to the strategic survey already submitted for approval to BizClim (comprehensive review of the sector and production of a road map for developing microfinance in the country).
